Mark has published short stories in such places as Shadows of Love: American Gay Fiction, Brother to Brother: New Writings by Black Gay Men, and Ancestral House: The Black Short Story in the Americas and Europe. He teaches African American literature and Sexuality Studies at Bowdoin College in Southern Maine, where he lives with his partner John, their two pets Venus and Kenya. He plays competitive tennis and is a novice bird watcher.
